The Thirty Parade

I’d like to wish my college roommate Ginny a happy 30th today. I am posting this a day early in the states because Ginny lives in Taiwan and is already celebrating her birthday.

She lives in the future.

Here is a pic from exactly ten years ago. Here you see four Baylor undergrads celebrating Ginny’s 20th birthday at The Oasis in Austin. We apparently celebrated with chips, salsa, and a few dozen Diet Cokes.

We Love Fountain Soda

We look very, very young. Oh what a difference ten years can make. This picture was taken in the middle of our sophomore year. At that time …

Becky and her husband Phil were not yet dating, Katie and her husband Matt hadn’t even met, and Ginny and her husband James had only spoken on the phone (there is a video summing up their journey that can be reviewed upon request).

I met Husbanks three months prior to this photo being taken, but we were not yet dating. Actually, I may have been dating Ginny’s husband at the time (again, watch the video if you have questions).

LOL.

I hope the four of us get a picture taken together ten years from now when we are 40 and Becky’s oldest son is in middle school. Whoa.

Happy 30th Ginny. Welcome to the Jesus Years.

Hil, this post made me laugh. We gotta get a picture of all of us before 31 starts hitting!

John H. Kent (what is up with him?) was there too so that is at least soda for five. That might be the answer.
