Happy Birthday, Deirdre

I still remember the first time I hung out with Deirdre.  We were at a work party and a colleague told me “Hey – you pronounce it ‘Deer-dra’ not ‘Dee-dra’.” After that faux pas, I didn’t know what Deirdre would think of me.

Well, that was four years ago.  Since then, we have shared countless pet-sitting duties, Mojo Fish Tacos, work assignments, bottles of wine, religious conversations, tears, and laughs.  She has even come to love my husband as her “brain twin.”

I love you, Deirdre.  May everyone be as kind-hearted, funny, successful, and cute as you are on their birthday.  Happy 30. Welcome to the Jesus Years.

HAP-py Birthday Deirdre! I hope this is your most fantastic birthday yet. You are such a wonderful friend to me and have taught me so much. You introduced me to good coffee and good tacos. You encouraged me to understand things on my own, to learn and become a better version of myself instead of just following someone else. Yours was the first shih-tzu I ever got to know and love (sorry, Elton). I love you dearly. Morgan

DJD – Happy 30th! Of course, I don’t have to wish you that, because you already knew that I was thinking it.
